Vocifery is the power to produce certain actions through the power of speech.
Activation[]
It's been told that words have power, and this couldn't be more true for witches and warlocks, who with the right words in the proper language can make a myriad of mystical things, but when a witch lacks the knowledge or simply doesn't want to bother themselves with all the effort that requires casting a spell, they can command certain actions with words that make clear their intentions. This commands seem to be limited (but not necessarily) to the manipulation of another person's bodies, minds and actions.
This magical ability might be related to the witches most common supernatural trait, their power to effectuate events through the use of charms and incantations, so it's not rare for a witch to manifest this power when their magic is starting to show up or increase.
Known Examples[]
- Freya Beauchamp wished out loud that Penelope Gardiner would choke, and so she did, but she luckily was helped by her son.
- Wendy Beauchamp told Maura Thatcher to shut up, and she did, but this activated the Ramus Mortium hex that the Shapeshifter had put on Maura, making her cough up blood in front of everybody.
- Mardi Overbrook concentrated enough magic on her voice so when she told Rocky McLaughlin that she and Molly were witches, he couldn't have other option but to believe her.
- Molly Overbrook commanded Rocky McLaughlin to fall sleep.
